As Autumn approaches, it is time to pull out your jumpers and explore the UK. We complied a list of UK day trips you can take this Autumn, see not only beautiful vies but also the changing colours of the leaves.
- Warwick Castle
Warwick Castle is a mediaeval castle that was erected on the site of a wooden fort established by William the Conqueror in 1068. Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, England, and is located on the Avon River’s meander.
The castle was less busy than it had been over the summer, and I enjoyed how the autumn leaves shone in the sunlight as I walked about the grounds. There were also a lot of grounds to explore, so it was a fantastic opportunity to observe the seasonal colours.
- St Albans
St Albans is the principal urban area of the City and District of St Albans, which is located in Hertfordshire, England. St Albans, which later became the Roman city of Verulamium, was the first important settlement on the old Roman road of Watling Street for visitors travelling north. It is located inside the Greater London Built-up Area and the London Commuter Belt.
The capital is only a 20-minute train ride away from St Albans. As a result, in late October, when night falls about 4 p.m., it’s simple to maximise daylight hours.
- Rochester
Rochester is a town in Kent, England, that is part of the Medway unitary authority. It’s roughly 30 miles from London, near the lowest crossing point of the River Medway.
Kent, which is known for its beautiful fall foliage, is a fantastic area to visit during the harvest season. Not only do the vineyards with their leaves and grapes seem gorgeous, but the apple orchards are equally vibrant.
- Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle, in the English county of Berkshire, is a royal palace. It is closely linked to the English royal family and subsequent British royal families, and it represents nearly a millennium of architectural history.
It’s near to London and a great spot to visit during the day when daylight hours are scarce.
- New Forest
The lovely New Forest shoreline is National Park, and despite the fact that it gets thousands of people each year, it is rarely congested. More than 140 kilometres of tracks and pathways may be found in the New Forest National Park. Long distance treks, short walks, and easy-to-follow marked paths will take you through historic woods, small picturesque towns, and wide moorland.
